SECOND QUARTER 2006 GROUNDWATER TREATMENT FACILITY MONITORING REPORT
FORWARD LANDFILL WDR ORDER NO.R5-2003-0080
Under WDR Order No.R5-2003-0080 influent sampling for pH,specific conductivity,
turbidity, and VOCs is performed semiannually.Influent samples are collected from a
sample port in the header pipe adjacent to the air stripper.Semiannual influent monitoring
was conducted on June 3,2006.Table 3 presents the results of the influent monitoring
performed during second quarter 2006. Appendix A contains the influent monitoring field
sampling logs and laboratory results for second quarter 2006.
TABLE 3
Influent Monitoring Results
Forward Landfill Groundwater Treatment Facility Monitoring Report, Second Quarter 2006
Analysis Date Parameters Units Results
Field Parametersa
6/3/06 pH pH units 6.6
Conductivity µmhos/cm 940
Turbidity NTU 0
VOCsb
6/3/06` 1,1-Dichloroethane µg/L 0.57
cis-1,2-Dichloroethylene pg/L 0.98
Tetrachloroethylene pg/L 4.2
Trichloroethylene pg/L 1.6
All Other VOCs pg/L Nondetect
aField parameters were analyzed using a calibrated Horiba U-10 water quality meter.
°VOCs were analyzed using EPA Method SW826013.
°Both extraction wells were operational when this sample was collected.
Note:
NTU = nephelometric turbidity units
A compact disc containing historical influent and effluent analytical,pH,and conductivity
data from August 1994 to December 2005 was provided in the Fourth Quarter 2005
Groundwater Treatment Facility Monitoring Report(CH2M HILL,2006). In accordance with a
conversation with CV Water Board staff, historical and 2006 analytical,pH,and conduc-
tivity data will be provided on compact disc in the fourth quarter 2006 monitoring report
(Atkinson,2006).
During third quarter 2006,effluent samples will be collected monthly and analyzed for pH,
specific conductivity, and VOCs.One quarterly effluent sample will be analyzed for total
dissolved solids. Influent samples will again be collected during fourth quarter 2006.
4.0 Works Cited
Atkinson,Ross/Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. 2006.
