Speed limit signs are posted at the landfill entrance facility. A Health and Safety Plan has been prepared for the Forward Landfill and a copy is kept in the office. A copy of the Health and Safety Plan is included in Appendix J. 6.6.1 SANITARY FACILITIES Portable toilets are provided by Delta Sanitation Services and are serviced daily. Two portable toilets are located adjacent to the landfill office, two are located at the transfer station/resource recovery facility, two are in the maintenance yard, and two are located near the working face. Hand washing facilities are located in each portable toilet and an additional facility is located near the office trailer. 6.6.2 POTABLE WATER SUPPLY Bottled water is provided for drinking. Nonpotable water for site operations is supplied by two onsite production wells: a 1,500-gpm well near the landfill entrance facilities and a 500-gpm well near the transfer station building. The transfer station has a 12,000-gallon water tank and a pressurized water system. Water uses include site construction and waste disposal operations, transfer station operations, dust control, equipment maintenance operations, sanitary facilities, fire fighting, and emergency situations.
