3.6 UNACCEPTABLE WASTE PROCEDURES
If unacceptable wastes are identified through the HWEP, the material will be marked
off and removed from the active face of the disposal area. The waste will be covered
or containerized, as needed, and will be labeled with the customer's name (if known),
marked with the waste and generator information (if known), and the date and time of
delivery. If wastes are in adequate containers and can be safely handled, waste will be
stored on-site in the designated area to await proper disposition by a licensed
hazardous waste hauler/recycler or, if the hauler who brought the waste can be
identified, the hauler will be asked to remove the waste. If the customer refuses to
handle waste removal, the landfill contracts with a hauler to remove and dispose of the
waste properly and Forward pays these expenses.
3.7 WASTE CONTROL EQUIPMENT
The following equipment supports the HWEP (inclusive of hazardous waste, universal
waste, PCB waste and other unacceptable waste):
• Brooms
• Shovels
• Rakes
• Absorbent Material
• Protective coveralls, gloves, and boots
• Safety glasses
• First-aid kit
This equipment is not sufficient to protect landfill personnel from large volumes of
hazardous wastes or other major releases. In the event of such an instance, the
applicable agencies, listed in Section 2.1, will be contacted immediately.
3-6
J:\Allied\Forward\2005.0051 Forward Load Check\2006 Load Check Program\SeclDocl2/21/2006
®RYAN A.STIRRAT 6 ASSOCIATES
