Geoelectric Leak Detection Final Report
Forward Landfill WMU FU -06
October 18, 2006
Page 3
surface of the cell to make a conservative estimate of the minimum hole size. The
calibration hole consisted of an artificial leak fabricated and placed in accordance with
ASTM D7007-03. The calibration test showed that a one quarter inch hole could be
located. ASTM procedures require that the target hole size produce a signal to noise
ratio of at least 3. As shown in the following graph, a signal to noise ratio of
approximately 6.6 was created by the quarter inch hole.
Figure 1 — Calibration Graph
Calibration Curve
Meters
Results
No electrical anomolies were located in WMU-06.
Background
—]
0.1
0.05
0
-0.05
-0.1
0
>
®
-0.15
.0.2
-0.25
-0.3
-0.35
Figure 1 — Calibration Graph
Calibration Curve
Meters
Results
No electrical anomolies were located in WMU-06.
Background
—]
