The "gap" between shear boxes was set at 80 mil (2.0 mm)
2. The test specimens were flooded during testing unless otherwise noted.
3. High Normal Stresses, >5psi (35 kPa) was applied using air pressure.
4. Low Normal Stresses, <5psi (35 kPa) was applied using dead weights.
5. The tests were terminated after 3.0"(75 mm) of displacement unless otherwise noted.
6. Tests were performed in general accordance with ASTM procedure D-5321 using a Brainard -Willman LGA 12 direct shearmachine
with an effective area of 12"x 12" (300 x300 mm).
TEST ORIENTATION: 4 NORMAL. Each specimen of geomembrane was cut to 14" x 20" and damped to the lower shear box.
2. The test soil was placed in the upper shear box to the specified dry density and water content.
3. Each test specimen was consolidated for 24 hours at the specified normal stress; then sheared.
4. The test was performed in a "wet" or "flooded" condition.
5. Shearing occurred at the interface of the soil and geomembrane specimens.
6. The Friction Angle and Adhesion (or Cohesion) results given here are based on a mathematically determined best fit line.
7. Further interpretation should be conducted by a qualified professional experienced In geosynthetic and geotechnical engineering.
..wac rraw(s appy umy ro Inc auuve aaea samPes r marenars. 1 ne Gala ano "00TI nn are propnetary arra can not be released wahoul auttorization of Vector Engineering Int
By accepting the data and resod represented on this page. gent agrees to ramp the hboy of Vector Engineen gl, Inc. from diem and ad other parties for dams arising out of use of this
date to the cost for the respective testis) represented hereon, and client agrees to indemnity and hold harmless Vector from and against ad Aabifty in excess of the aforementioned limit
:Labexcef 1 Projects 1 2002 1 021605 1 1197H-LSDS-ip Entered By- CLL Print Date: 06129/04 Rev.
