SECTION 02774 <br />GEOCOMPOSITE 1' 1 1; P 1> <br />1.1 WORK INCLUDED <br />A. This section covers the Work necessary to furnish and install Geocomposite Drainage <br />Net (Geocomposite) on the side slopes of WMU FU -06, complete. <br />B. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, supervision, tools, <br />equipment, and materials necessary to complete the Geocomposite installation <br />including, but not limited to, submittals, panel layout, seaming, temporary anchorage, <br />and all necessary and incidental items required to complete the Work in accordance <br />with these Specifications and the Construction Drawings. The EARTHWORK <br />CONTRACTOR will perform excavation and backfilling of anchor trenches and will <br />unload the Geocomposite if the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR is not onsite. <br />1.2 REFERENCES <br />A. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM): <br />1. D792, Test Method for Density and Specific Gravity (Relative Density) of <br />Plastics by Displacement <br />2. D1603, Standard Test Method for Carbon Black in Olefin Plastics. <br />3. D4716, Test Method for Constant Head Hydraulic Transmissivity of <br />Geotextiles and Geotextile Related Products <br />4. D5035, Test Method for Breaking Strength and Elongation of Textile Fabrics <br />(Strip Method) <br />5. D5199, Test Method for Measuring Nominal Thickness of Geotextiles and <br />Geomembranes. <br />1.3 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Batch: A quantity of resin, usually the capacity of one railcar, used in the fabrication <br />of high density polyethylene (HDPE) geonet. The finished product will be identified <br />by a roll number corresponding to the particular quantity of resin used. <br />B. QA/QC CONSULTANT: The party, independent from Manufacturer or Contractor, <br />that is responsible for observing and documenting activities related to the quality <br />assurance of production and installation of the geosynthetic components of the lining <br />system. <br />C. Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Laboratory: The party, independent from the <br />OWNER, Manufacturer, Fabricator, and Contractor, responsible for conducting tests <br />on samples of geosynthetics obtained at the site. <br />D. Fabricator: The party responsible for the fabrication of Geocomposite panels <br />constructed from rolls received from the Geonet Manufacturer. <br />FORWARD LANDFILL WMU FU -06 GEOCOMPOSITE <br />02774 1 DRAINAGE NET <br />
