10.0 Quality Assurance and Quality Control
10.1 Audits
Prior to the asbestos air monitoring sampling event, Allied will conduct an.audit on the existing
MET system. Shaw will check the asbestos sampling equipment performance, monitoring
procedures, and data collection and handling procedures, prior to the sampling event.
10.2 Representativeness (Field Blanks)
Field blanks and sample storage protocols all help assure the representativeness of the data.
Field blanks provide assurances that the samples have not been contaminated during the
sampling process, through shipping, handling, or transportation. Proper sample storage provides
assurance that the samples do not become contaminated or degraded prior to analysis.
During the sampling event, QC samples for each site location will be collected. One field blank
per site (to determine if any asbestos contamination has occurred during the sample handling
activities) and one sealed blank for the lot (to determine if any asbestos contamination has
occurred during sample storage and shipping)will be collected per site.
The results from analysis of these blanks will be included in the final report.
4Dse-AfAUsersL0hadnisWwwardLandfilhAsbestmMonAoringWbeslosPian Final Draft spoc 10-1
A6Wi
