1 Sampling Equipment Imedmas sans l° 8 P m8 Probes were used to monitor subsurface gases at the landfill �cter, Each probe consists of a Mootnt Ion YS-inch diameter stainless steel i ` - . g' pipe, / tech holes staggered every 2 inches at the bottom 18 incites to allow for gases-to migrate into the prof, A pointed tip was welded to the end of the probe for better penetration. A ball valve and brass fitting were installed at the top of each probe to contain gas pressures and "tate aitrument hook-up to the probe.The valves were left closed e-kcept d or ' ent reading.Each probe is tagged with a brass plate and identified as_GP monitoring through } AGA 90 Landtec Iafra-red•Gas Analyzer was used to monitor methane, carbon.dioxide.(CO.,), and oxygen(02)levels at each robe location.The anal ` probe Y was calibrated for methane, CO2,and Og prior•to use in the field_Calibration.logs are.included.in afm report.- Gas Monitoring E Ambient air measurame nts of metfiaue, o i - xygen, carbon dioxide;and barometric-pressure• taken at each gas probe location. Monitoring was also conducted at various locations in three buiid'ang sites for the Presence of methane gas Monitoring was conducted at the office trailer at the entrance to the landfill, trailer boxes at the service shop, and trader boxes at the transfer building.
