Disposal Of Purge Water
Only very low levels of either metallic or organic contaminants have been detected in some of
the wells downgradient of WMU A. Because these levels are very-low, there is not stiffiicient
-reason to containerize the purge water. Should the analytical results indicate a need to
can the following procedure will be used:
Sample purge water generated during well.purging; and excess waiter generated during
sampig, will be placed in a trailer mounted tank attached to• the sampling vehicle.
- When the tank isfull,.the groundwater will be pumped.from the tank to an onsi#e leachate
evaporation pond. After the gmundwatcr sampling rauttd is completed the tank will be
filled with approximately I 0 gallons of water from the water truck fill station This
water will then be recirculated in the tank and pump to rinse the system. The rinse water
vi l then be discharged to the leachate.evaporation pond--
Domestic Wbll
The domestic well sampled (DW-9690) contains.a_submersible pump with:an in-line pressure
tank and switch to activate the pump oncc-thcpressurc_drew below_a certain value:. Prior to collecting the watcrsamplcs, the pump was.
allowed to nm
for approximately 30 minutes to-purge the water system and draw groundwater fmm-the aquifer_
During satnpling, the PIFs cycled on-off because the pumping rate exceeded the spigot
discharge.
.LANDFILL GAS
Landfill gas monitoring at Forward.Landfill consists of monitoring gas in the ten interim gas
probes and in buildings located at the landfill facility.
- 23-483944-FO1\231oR32s A-11 -
2M Kl wewcx.In.--
3u1y 14,ZQtls?
