AC T27CCR 20580 — Lighting — Two of the light towers at the work face were turned facing toward the approaching <br />aircraft. Work with staff to ensure that the lights are facing down and away from the oncoming air traffic. <br />2. AC T27CCR 20590 — Personnel Health and Safety — Site users were not wearing their hard hats an safety vests. During <br />the inspection the following was noted: <br />1. The drivers of the trucks delivering Treated Auto Shredder Waste were not wearing hard hat and or <br />safety vests. <br />Continue to emphasize the important of wearing safety gear when ever the site users are out of their vehicles. <br />3. Notes: <br />A. During the inspection there was a subsurface landfill fire. The fire is in the same location as the last subsurface fire. <br />The fire was located on the south slope of FU -04. Water was used to suppress the fire. The fire was contained in an <br />area no larger than a- 15 foot diameter circle. Water was placed on the fire until the smoke ceased to rise for the area. <br />The EHD was informed that the area was uncovered and the fire completely extinguished and fresh soils was placed <br />and compacted over the area: <br />B. The active working face is located in the FU -06. The cover used was TASW, PGM, soil and tarps. The site was <br />using two working faces. One for MSW and the other for special waste (soil, bottom ash and treated wood). <br />C. The perimeter gas migration wells were not monitored during the routine inspection. The gas meter is in for service. <br />The operator provide monitoring from SCS Field Services and the results indicated that the methane levels were less <br />that 5% <br />D. The following Violation and Area's of Concern, listed during the inspection of January 29, 2007 have been resolved. <br />1. T27CCR 20650 — Grading of Fill Surfaces. <br />2.
