However, it should be noted that the treated auto shredder waste inflow
rate shown above (both average and peak) was increased from historic records to
allow for future growth.
The peak material received was documented in the)TD to accommodate large
event-driven jobs accepted at the site on an occasional basis. The utilization of
beneficial reuse materials is being tracked continuously by site staff with records
maintained showing weight and usage by material in both weight and volume.
The peak (maximum) inflow rate for all the beneficial reuse materials listed in
Table 5.1 is 5,487 tons/day.
Soil materials not requiring disposal and which are utilized for beneficial reuse are
classified prior to use at FL. Soils that are both(1) "contaminated soils," that do
not meet the LEA clean soil levels for inorganics and (2) Class II wastes (or
designated wastes), based on criteria established by the RWQCB. Limited reuse
soils are only to be used within a lined Class II landfill cell. The limited reuse soils
are tracked by FL and the amount received (in tons) is counted against the
maximum permitted tonnage. The FL averages approximately 750 tons per day
(TPD) of limited reuse soil with occasional peaks of 3,200 TPD.
The MRF is covered by a separate Solid Waste Facility Permit as described in
previous sections. That permit effectively limits materials delivered to the MRF to
Forward Landfill Project Description 5-12 BRYAN A.STIRRAT&ASSOCIATES
(J:\Allied\Forward\2007.0018 Lateral Expansion\Reports\Proj Descrip\021308 Final Proj Des\Sec 5.doc:2/14/2008)
