500 tons per day; however that tonnage is currently counted as part of the
landfill's daily tonnage limit. FL proposes to count MRF tonnage separately from
the landfill tonnage, leaving the individual facility limits in place. The maximum
inflow rate for the MRF will remain 500 tons per day. The maximum inflow rate
for the landfill will remain 8,668 tons per day, but would only refer to refuse
disposed. The maximum tonnage of all materials accepted at both facilities will
effectively be limited by the traffic limitations described below.
5.4.3 TRAFFIC LIMITATIONS
The current permitted traffic volume is 620 vehicles per day. The most recent
traffic study for FL was completed in August 2004 by T.Y.LIN International/CCS.
This report concluded that the number of vehicle trips that could be added at the
FL without dropping the level of service (LOS) at any of the affected intersections
is 340 vehicles per day.
Therefore, FL is proposing to increase the traffic volume from 620 to 960
vehicles per day. This traffic volume increase will accommodate the
simultaneous peak inflow rates of several, but not all materials while maintaining
an acceptable LOS at the surrounding intersections.
FL maintains records of incoming loads and vehicle counts and will limit deliveries
of waste for disposal and other materials for beneficial reuse to a total of
960vehicles/day. It should be noted that delivery of waste and other materials
varies on a daily basis.
Forward Landfill Project Description 5-13 BRYAN A.STIRRAT S ASSOCIATES
(J:\Allied\Forward\2007.0018 Lateral Expansion\Reports\Prof Descrip\021308 Final Proj Des\Sec 5.doc:2/14/2008)
