They then started placing drainage gravel there. Gravel was
brought in with belly dumps, and placed onto the textile using a belt conveyor. Once it was on the textile it was spread
a thickness of no less than 6 inches, using the GPS equipped D6 dozer. Grade checkers also checked the thickness
of the gravel continuously as it was placed and spread.
Twice, the dozer operated on gravel that was too thin and tore up a section of the underlying geotextile. Guinn
uncovered the entire area with shovels, exposing the tom textile as well as a couple of feet of good textile around the
edge of the torn area. They then placed a section of good textile in place of the torn piece, overlapping it 2 feet on all
sides, and covered it back up with gravel.
Guinn received and placed a total of 1085 cubic yards of drainage gravel today.
N/A
Prepared By: Steven Rosbach Title: Senior Engineering Technician Date: 08/17/09
Reviewed By: Title:
is
4/23/03, Rev. 0 1 of 1
C-2
Date:
