J
' l Sampling Frequency and Locations
Shaw will perform one asbestos monitoring test during the months of March and October for
each year. The asbestos level will be continuously monitored by collecting 8 -hour low-volume
asbestos air samples on the one chosen day. The sampling day will be chosen in coordination
with Allied to coincide with the landfill's asbestos disposal -related activities. Four
representative sites within the landfill fenceline will be sampled in this study.
Consistent with generally accepted practice for ambient air monitoring site selection, the sampler
will be placed at a location that meets the following requirements to the maximum extent
possible:
The terrain will be level and will have no major obstructions (vegetation or other
physical obstructions).
• The sampler inlet will be at a breathing level of approximately 2 meters above ground
level and will face vertically downward.
A duplicate set of integrated air sampling equipment will be co -located at one of the sites
downwind of the active work areas. The duplicate sampling equipment will be located within 2
to 4 meters of the co -located equipment.
Upon completion of the sampling event and sample analysis, Shaw will tabulate the field data
and prepare a report to be submitted to the local enforcement agency (LEA). The report will
include the field data and laboratory analytical data used to determine the asbestos baseline level
and the sampling results.
4-1
