Construction Activities
1. Guinn Construction continued minor fill placement for the lower slope below the bench and 5:1
slope. Scrapers spread the Subgrade Fill soils in 8" loose lifts for moisture conditioning and
compaction by the 815 and scraper traffic.
2. Guinn Construction continued placement of Subgrade Fill soils on the west and central floor areas of
FU -10. Four scrapers continue placing 8" loose lifts; moisture by water truck and compaction by 815.
About 5,000cy was placed on the floor and lower slope today; about 17,500cy to date.
3. Guinn Construction continued exposing the tie-in along the south end of FU -08 (filter geotextile,
plywood and GCS drain gravel), using the 321C excavator and a spotter while working around the
leachate collection tanks.
4. Forward personnel continue pumping leachate from each of the 3 leachate collection tanks on the east
side of WMU FU -08; the solution is pumped onto the east side -slope of FU -08.
II. CQA Activities
1. CQA performed 5 nuclear method moisture -density tests in compacted Subgrade Fill placed in the
central and northern floor areas of FU -10. Tests SF -24 through SF -27, including retest SF -21A,
indicated
2. CQA performed ASTM D1557A Proctor on Subgrade Fill Sample SFS -I.
3.
