4 ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
4.1 Environmental Factors
There are a variety of environmental factors typically evaluated under the CEQA Guidelines.
The environmental factors generally include:
• Aesthetics
• Biological Resources
• Geology/Soils
• Land Use and Planning
• Population and Housing
• Transportation and Traffic
• Agriculture and Forest Resources
• Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
• Hazards and Hazardous Materials
• Mineral Resources
• Public Services
• Utilities/Service Systems
• Air Quality
• Cultural Resources
• Hydrology and Water Quality
• Noise
• Recreation
Because Forward Landfill is an existing permitted facility, many of these environmental factors
have been considered as part of the development of the landfill and the granting of Conditional
Use Permit UP-00-7. The LFGTE facility will conform to any pertinent mitigation measures
incorporated in UP 00-7.
In addition, the proposed LFGTE facility is a small project in relation to the landfill, occupying a
proposed area of approximately 0.41 acres of the 744-acre Forward Landfill site. It, therefore,
has limited to no impact on many of the above listed environmental factors. In particular, the
biological resources, population and housing, transportation and traffic, agriculture and forest
resources, hazards and hazardous materials, mineral resources, public resources, cultural
resources, and recreation categories would appear to have no impact from the LFGTE facility
project. Brief discussions of the remaining environmental factors, with references to studies
performed for the project, are provided in the following sections.
C:\Docu wts and Settingsjessimsees\Daskwffor dLFGTE-Project De dption.doc
CORNERSTONE 4-1 LEWIS ENGINEERING
E.sir.vment.t G.®.Pe LLC
