r Q
pumps on an hourly basis for fluctuations in the flow rate and corrected and recorded any
deviations of more than 5 percent from the initial value. After sampling was completed,
each pump was re-calibrated to determine the post-test value. The pretest and post-test
values were averaged over the total sample time to calculate an average value that was
used to calculate a total volume for each sample cassette.
After sampling, the sample cassettes were removed from the sample pumps and labeled,
packaged, sealed, and stored in a secure location. The following day, all samples were
shipped to ATEML for analysis. A completed chain-of-custody from, detailing the
sample I.D. numbers, date and time collected, analysis requested, and other project
information accompanied the samples to the laboratory. Each sample was analyzed for
asbestos by NIOSH Method 7402 (Revision#1) using transmission electron microscopy.
MONITORING RESULTS
Field monitoring of meteorological data was recorded electronically at the Stockton
Airport weather station. During the sampling event on June 22, 2011, the average
temperature was 83 degrees with a high of 100 degrees and a low of 66 degrees. The
average wind speed was 6 miles per hour out of the northwest and the average relative
humidity was 45%.
The analytical results reported by ATEML for the asbestos samples are summarized in
the table below. As shown in the table below, asbestos was not detected at any of the
sample locations.
Summary of Asbestos Concentrations
Forward Landfill
Sample Average Flow Sample Identified Asbestos Calculated Asbestos
Station Rate Volume Structures Structure Concentration
liters/minute) (liters) Ch s./Am h.) fibers per CC air>5um)
A 2.2 1386 ND/ND <0.0007
B 2.4 1512 ND/ND <0.0007
C 2.1 1323 ND/ND <0.0008
D 2.0 1260 ND/ND <0.0008
E 1.4 882 ND/ND <0.001 I
Notes: ND—None Detected
Chrys.—Chrysotile Asbestos
Amph.—Amphibole Asbestos
CC—Cubic Centimeter
1 um—1 micron
2
