In the interest of conservatism, the ordinance
standards will therefore be accepted as the criteria for the facility.
4 PROJECT NOISE
Project sound levels were determined as follows:
1. A series of acoustic measurements was taken at locations surrounding the
completed Keller Canyon facility while producing power at full capacity. The
one-third octave sound levels and measurement distances were used to compute
the effective sound power level being radiated from each side of the facility.
These levels were compared to levels predicted from the manufacturers' ratings as
shown in Table 2 and found to be in good agreement. Acoustic treatments used in
the Keller Canyon facility are to be duplicated on the Forward project.
2. The project area topography, locations of noise sensitive uses and measurement
positions and the project facility were entered into the SoundPLAN 7.0 database.
