V
Mr. Don Litchfield
April 1,2011
Page 3
March 2011, monitoring probes GP-11M and GP-12S returned to regulatory compliance (below
5.0%by volume). During this reporting period, GP Probe Nos. GP-09M and GP-09S, were in
compliance until March 31, 2011, when methane concentrations exceeded the compliance level
of 5%by volume. On April 1, 2011, SCS performed adjustments and modifications to the
collection system, and by April 2, 2011, methane gas concentrations at the probe had decreased
to below the LEL.
SCS will continue to monitor these locations and adjust the wells in the surrounding area to
maintain the monitoring probes below the LEL. These results indicated that as of the date of this
report, the subject site perimeter probes are in compliance with the requirements of Title 27 CCR
Article 6. SCS understands that the probe network is under review by the CIWMB to enable
relocation of the probes to the property boundary.
Also, during this reporting period, SCS performed monitoring of temporary subsurface evaluation
probe Nos. TGP-01 through TGP-39 (Table 1). Results of this testing indicated that most of these
evaluation probes exhibited methane gas concentrations above the LEL(up to 65.5%by volume).
Note, that the methane gas concentrations at these locations, which are for evaluation purposes and
are not compliance locations, have indicated a fluctuating trend.
SCS is scheduled to perform second quarterly monitoring of 2011 (April through June) of the GP
probes by the end of the month of June 2011.
ON-SITE INTERIOR STRUCTURE TESTING
In accordance with the approved testing schedule, the interiors of on-site structures are to be tested
at a minimum, on a quarterly basis. On March 30, 2011, on-site structures (i.e., landfill office,
portable office, scale house, locker room and supply room) were tested for the presence of methane
gas. In each structure, random selected locations (i.e., electrical outlets and junction boxes,
conduits, drains, floor cracks, etc.)were tested. Test results (Table 1 A) indicated no methane gas
was detected at any accessible location tested.
SCS is scheduled to perform second quarterly monitoring of 2011 (April through June) of the
interiors of on-site structures by the end of the month of June 2011.
STANDARD PROVISIONS
This report addresses conditions at the subject site during the test dates only. Accordingly,we
assume no responsibility for any changes that may occur subsequent to our monitoring which
could affect the quantity of LFG at the subject site or adjacent properties.
I
