Innpett; 'Peter R. Mihanich'; Roberty4cC|e|lon [EH]
Subject: RE: Forward Landfill
They claimed the area they dumped on was a clay pad. It appears the waste was dumped on bare dirt, and
not a clay pad as they claim, unless they imported clay dirt, and prepped the land, which is not likely. The
only reason I persist to question this violation is that before their practice of dumping in the area off
Newcastle, they used to dump the cannery waste on the area where they hope to expand the dump, to the
southwest and were caught building a road from the composting area to this area. After they were caught
and forced to shut that road down, they merely moved on to the bare land off Newcastle so as not to miss a
beat in accepting the waste. Is this worth looking further into to determine whether they should incur any
further ramifications from their actions?
From: Kenny, Brendan @Waterboards [ma UhzBrendan. VVesubsequently inspected the landfill and
verified that the unpermitted discharge to the area north of the landfill had ceased.
Brendan
BRENDAN KENNY
Engineering Geologist
VVDRCompliance and Enforcement Unit
Central Valley Water Board, Region SS
11O2OSun Center Drive, Rancho Cordova, Ca9S67O
916-464-4635 (direct)
916-464'47B1(fax)
From: Mike LaForge
9/10/2013
