As shown in the table above, significant increasing trends were calculated for three VOC
constituents in CAP well AMW-1, while decreasing VOC trends were noted for one or
more VOCs in CAP wells AMW-1, AMW-4, W-10,AMW-11, and AMW-19BR.
The decreasing(organic and inorganic)trends noted in all of the CAP wells, suggests that
corrective action measures have been successful in reducing facility related groundwater
impacts downgradient of the Austin Unit.
Evaluation Monitoring Program Well Monitoring
Field and laboratory results for offsite EMP wells for the fourth quarter 2013 monitoring
® period are summarized in Table 3-2B. As shown in Table 3-2B, 12 VOCs were detected
in the offsite EMP wells during the monitoring period. Wells AMW-1313,AMW-18B,
AMW-215,AMW-21,AMW-29,AMW-31S, and AMW-31 had two or move VOCs
measured above their PQLs; and well AMW-21S had the greatest number of VOCs 10
with five measured above their PQLs.
Domestic Well Monitoring
Two domestic wells (7898-A and 8106-A)were sampled on November 19, 2013. Table
3-3 summarizes the current analytical results for the domestic well samples collected.
PCE was measured above the PQL in the samples from both domestic wells and DCDFM
and TCE were also measured above the PQL in the sample collected from well 8106-A.
Estimated-trace concentrations of two VOCs were also measured in the sample collected
from well 8106-A.
Surface Water Monitoring
Site run-on and run-off control facilities are designed to effectively channel surface water
to site stormwater/sedimentation ponds. According to the Operations Manager, there
were no discharges to surface water during the reporting quarter. Surface water
monitoring stations ASW-1 (upstream) and ASW-2 (downstream) were reported dry
during the fourth quarter 2013 monitoring period.
