® 1. The polyethylene resin shall meet or exceed the requirements of <br /> ASTM D3350 for PE 3408 material with a cell classification of 345464C, <br /> or better and a material classification of III C5 P34. Driscopipe of <br /> Richardson, TX, Model Driscopipe 1000 pipe and Plexco of Benseville, IL, <br /> Model Plexco PE 3408 Industrial Piping meet these reqirements. <br /> 2. The polyethylene compound shall be suitably protected against degradation <br /> by ultraviolet light by means of carbon black, well dispersed by <br /> precompounding in a concentration of not less than 2 percent. <br /> 3. The maximum allowable hoop stress shall be 800 psi at 73.4°F. <br /> 4. The pipe manufacturer shall be listed with the Plastic Pipe Institute as <br /> meeting the recipe and mixing requirements of the resin manufacturer for <br /> the resin used to manufacture the pipe for this project. <br /> 5. Pipe sizes shall conform to ASTM F714. <br /> 6. The pipe shall conform to the following schedule: <br /> Piping System and/or <br /> Nominal Pipe Location SDR <br /> Size <br /> 6 inch Perforated Leachate 11 <br /> Collection Pipes <br /> 7. Perforate 6-inch pipe with 1/2-inch diameter holes drilled on thirds, spaced <br /> 6-inches on center. <br /> 2.2 FITTINGS <br /> A. Polyethylene fittings shall be molded for sizes 6-inch and smaller and shall be <br /> fabricated from polyethylene pipe for sizes 8-inch and larger, by means of thermal <br /> butt-fusion. The ends of the fabricated fittings shall not be trimmed to match the <br /> pipe section to which they are going to be joined. All polyethylene fittings shall <br /> have the same or higher pressure rating as the pipe when installed in accordance <br /> with the latest technical specifications. <br /> 2.3 JOINTS <br /> A. Thermal butt-fusion, except where connecting to unions, valves, and equipment <br /> with threaded connections that may require future disassembly. <br /> 2.4 HDPE TANKS <br /> A. The HDPE tanks shall be a corrugated high density polyethylene pipe with a <br /> smooth interior and shall be Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) N-12 or <br /> equivalent. <br /> B. The polyethylene compound shall be suitably protected against degradation by <br /> ultraviolet light by means of carbon black, well dispersed by precompounding in a <br /> concentration of not less than 1.5 percent. <br /> C. The HDPE tanks shall meet the requirement, sizes, and perforation pattern shown <br /> Forward Landfill WMU FU-14 <br /> 02535 2 LEACHATE PIPES <br />
