® • Verify that the final surface provides continuous and intimate contact with the overlying
geosynthetic.
• Coordinate with the Earthwork Contractor and Owner to perform subgrade verification
surveys upon completion of the subgrade preparation. Verify corrective action measures
as determined by the verification surveys. Verification surveys will also be used to
determine the limits of the subgrade preparation for measurement and payment
applications. Submit copy of verification surveys to the Construction Manager.
3.4.6 Granular Drainage Material
• Review the Contractor's approved work plan of proposed methods to place granular
drainage material over geosynthetic installations. Determine and note corrective action
items if applicable.
• Perform soil tests to verify that the granular drainage material is in compliance with
material gradation and permeability requirements of the Specifications. Perform tests at
testing frequencies specified in Section 3.2.2.
• Monitor placement operations to verify that low ground pressure equipment is used in
accordance with the Specifications and that underlying geosynthetics installations are not
damaged during placement operations. Mark damaged geosynthetics and verify that
® damage is repaired.
U
• Verify and record material thickness during placement operations.
• Coordinate with the Earthwork Contractor and Owner to perform verification surveys of
the granular drainage layer material upon completion of placement operations. Verify
corrective action measures as determined by the verification surveys. Verification
surveys will also be used to determine the limits of the LCRS granular drainage layer
material for measurement and payment applications. Submit copy of verification to the
Construction Manager.
3.4.7 Coarse Gravel
• Review the Contractor's approved work plan of proposed methods to place coarse gravel
material over geosynthetic installations. Determine and note corrective action items if
applicable.
• Perform soil tests to verify that coarse gravel is in compliance with material gradation
and permeability requirements of the Specifications.
