5-3 <br />♦ A 24 -inch thick low permeability soil (minimum permeability of 1 x 10-7 cm/sec) or <br />GCL; <br />♦ A 60 -mil HDPE liner (single -sided textured, textured side down); <br />♦ A geocomposite drainage net (geonet); and <br />♦ A 12 -inch thick protective cover soil layer. <br />The geonet will extend over the entire slope area and will terminate within the base liner's 1 - <br />foot thick LCRS drainage layer at a 5 -foot offset from the toe of slope. The sideslope liner <br />system will be anchored in a trench located at the top of the excavation slope. <br />5.2.2.3 Interim Final Cover <br />The interim final cover system will consist of (from bottom to top) (see detail on Drawing 4): <br />♦ Two -foot foundation layer consisting of: <br />- Existing intermediate soil cover and <br />- One foot of additional foundation soil material <br />♦ Either GCL or 12 inches of low -permeability soil (minimum permeability of 1 x 10-6 <br />cm/sec); <br />Is ♦ 12 -inch of vegetative soil layer; and <br />♦ 12 -inch drainage gravel or drainage geocomposite. <br />This interim final cover is being placed over the existing Class III refuse area at the Austin <br />Road Unit to mitigate existing infiltration concerns. Additional Class III waste will be placed <br />above the interim final cover within and above the Austin Road Class III Unit as discussed in <br />Section 5.2.5. The south, east and west slopes will be constructed at 3:1 (horizontal to <br />vertical) slope ratios. The north slope will be placed at 4:1. The interim final cover detail is <br />shown on Drawing 6. <br />5.2.2.4 Intermediate Liner System <br />An intermediate liner system shall be constructed over the south slope of the existing Class <br />III WMU at the Austin Road Unit and has and will continue to consist of (from bottom to top) <br />(see Detail 3 on Drawing 5): <br />♦ 1 -foot of existing refuse cover soil; <br />♦ 1 -foot of additional foundation soil; <br />♦ A 24 -inch thick low permeability soil (minimum permeability of 1 x 10-7 cm/sec or <br />GCL); <br />0 ♦ A 60 -mil HDPE geomembrane (textured); <br />Forward Landfill SWT Engineering <br />Joint Technical Document - April 2014 <br />z:\projects\allied waste\forward\five year permit rvw 2013\jtd-5 yr pr 2013\text\sec 5_final.doc <br />
