I would like to take <br />this opportunity to inform you that Section 66784 of the Government Code <br />requires that before any new solid waste facility is - established, the Solid <br />Waste Management Board must determine whether or not this facility conforms <br />to the County Solid Waste Management Plan. Before the Board can make this <br />determination, the following items must be forwarded to the Board's staff: <br />1. A Notice of intent letter stating the county's_ desire to construct and/or <br />operate the prjisid landfill. This letter should be accompanied by a <br />map showing: <br />a) that site and its service area in relation to other county <br />landfills and their -service areas, <br />b) the amount of acreage involved, <br />c) projected site life, and <br />d) type and volume of wastes to he handled. <br />A- copy of the Notice of Determination tiled with the Secretary of <br />Resources. <br />3. A letter from the county stating that the proposed facility conforms <br />to the County Solid Waste Management Plan, per Governpent Code Section <br />66784. This can be obtained from Mr. Dixon, the County Administrative <br />Officer. <br />4 A letter from the county stating that the proposed facilily.meets <br />state requirements for distance between the site and residential <br />structures, per Government Code Section 66784.1 (Items #3 and #4 <br />may be combined). <br />
