' Table 5-12
(DNS TABLE J)
MAJOR INDUSTRY GROUPS OF WASTE GENERATED AND SHIPPED OFF SITE
IN 1986, INCLUDING SMALL QUANTITY GENERATORSI
m one-time
1 . Table 5-12 excludes the following wastes generated from
cleanups: asbestos-containing wastes, contaminated soils, and
all wastes designated "1X" on DHS manifests. A detailed break-
down of generators is presented in Appendix A. No wastes were
manifested from transfer facilities. Based on a survey of
generators, no waste quantities are added for exempted and
varianced wastes.
2. SIC = Standard Industrial Classification. Table 5-13 lists the
number of County businesses (both large and small quantity
generators) under the 2-digit SIC code corresponding to the first
2 digits of each 4-digit SIC code shown in this table.
3. To avoid double counting waste manifest data, route hauler
quantities were subtracted from the subtotal and quantities of
hazardous wastes manifested out of state were added to the
subtotal .
4. SQG data (except for waste oil ) calculated by U.S. EPA Method, in
accordance with Part F, Attachments A, B, and C in DHS's
cral Reference Manual , June 1987. See also Footnote 5,
Table 5-10. Waste oil data are based on Attachment A and the DHS
methodology: "Determining Used Oil Volumes Generated by Selected
SQGs.
