Currently, the entire
site (including two residences, two barns, and several adjacent corrals) is being
leased to the former site owners. This area will be reduced as the landfill devel-
ops.
A high voltage transmission line traverses the site in a southeast -northwest di-
rection approximately 1,300 feet from the northeast corner of the property
boundary. A reservoir and nonproductive orchard are near the southeastern
edge of the site.
Land uses near project site include the following (see Figures 6-1 and 6-2):
north: ranch building, irrigated vineyard, irrigated pasture, dry pas-
ture. and the East Bay Municipal Utility District Mokelumne Aque-
duct (runs diagonally northeast to southwest approximately
1,800 feet north of the site).
south: dry pasture, irrigated walnut orchard, and livestock barns.
• east: irrigated pasture and a residence (approximately 0.25 mile
from the site).
west: dry pasture and residences.
The San Joaquin County Land Use Map designates the site and its surroundings
as general agricultural land (GA -40 zoning designation) with a 40 -acre minimum
parcel size. In addition to livestock grazing, several acres surrounding the site
have been developed for crop cultivation, chiefly grapes. Approximately
20 residences are located within 1 mile of the site perimeter.
Figure 6-2 shows 38 water wells located within 1 mile of the site perimeter. Also
shown are the two compliance monitoring and three domestic wells (G-1, G-2,
W-1, W-2, and W-3) located on the site. Table 6-1 provides details of ownership,
exact location, and use of the water wells adjacent to the site boundary. In gen-
eral, ground water within 1 mile of the site perimeter is being used for irrigation,
stock watering, and domestic uses. The anticipated future use is the same.
PJ9 9390219A.00W 30 Rev. 0 July 19, 1989
