u
Water -level data acquired during the site investigation indicated that current wa-
ter levels in wells in the area range from elevations of -19 to -27 feet MSL (depths
of 125 to 150 feet). The local gradient is very flat over most of the area, but ap-
pears to be generally to the west-southwest (see Figure 8-1). Ground water was
found in site wells (both water -supply and monitoring wells) at depths ranging
from 124 to 156 feet (see Table 8-2 and Figure 11-1).
Results of both in situ and laboratory permeability testing are summarized on
Table 8-1. Test results confirm the low permeability of the fine-grained sedi-
ments in the over 100 -foot -thick unsaturated zone. Permeabilities from tests
were 1 x 10-6 to 2 x 10-8 cm/sec. Similar values were obtained during previous
site investigations. Permeability of the saturated aquifer material was found to be
9 x 10-3 cm/sec at depths of 130 to 160 feet.
0
I
C
r
C
I
fl
[1
7
PJ9 939021 A W
9 .00 39 Rev. 0 July 19, 1989
7
