I 1 <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. The Contractor shall provide an enclosed ground flare suitable for <br />combustion of landfill gas in accordance with these Specifications and any <br />applicable requirements of the SJAPCD Authority to Construct. <br />B. Equipment furnished under this section shall be fabricated and delivered to <br />the site in full conformity with drawings, specifications, engineering data, <br />instructions and recommendations furnished by the flare manufacturer <br />unless exceptions are noted by the Engineer. <br />C. The flare shall be provided and installed by the Contractor. The Contractor <br />shall provide drawings, specifications and instructions necessary for proper <br />installation of the flare and associated equipment. <br />D. The flare shall be designed by the UBC and AISC, latest editions. <br />E. The flare may be installed on the same skid as the blower and other <br />equipment if radiant heat from the flare does not adversely affect operator <br />health based on four hour exposure, or affect nearby controls and equipment. <br />1.02 SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. This section covers the fabrication, delivery, installation, and testing of the <br />landfill gas flare and appurtenances as shown on the Drawings and specified <br />herein. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer complete drawings, details and <br />specifications in accordance with the pertinent provisions of Section 01300 <br />of these Specifications. <br />B. The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer shop drawings including: <br />1. Details of the flare construction, including ladder. <br />2. Flare layout showing all connections, view ports, and source test <br />ports. <br />3. Flare insulation and method of attachment. <br />4. Flare propane gas pilot and spark igniter assembly. <br />5.
