The EHD concerns would be odor, fire and contamination (metal, glass, food,
haz waste screening). North County is a fully permitted site and is permitted to handle the waste.
Best regards. Recently, the County was approached
by a business that has an organics stream of around 5,000 tons per year that they want to have processed
at the North County facility by our Green/Wood waste processor, Barajas Tree Farms. This organics
stream is made up of residential type organics (green bin) and organics from various businesses. We wish
to incorporate this material into our existing organics program for processing but we want your input
before negotiations with this client begin.
Thank you,
David
David Gorton, Management Analyst
Planning and Materials Management Section
San Joaquin County - Public Works
Solid Waste Division
1810 E.
