C. If any strange material is encountered during drilling, the work area will be <br />cordoned off and the County's Office of Emergency Services (OES) will be <br />notified. The affected work area will be flagged and excluded from other <br />work areas until the strange material is characterized by OES. SWD's <br />staff and drilling contractor will not attempt to remove or handle suspicious <br />material. SWD will contact PSC environmental to remove and dispose <br />any hazardous materials. <br />D. SWD's contractor is required to follow OSHA safety rules and regulations <br />during this project. Hard hats, safety glasses and safety vests will be <br />required for personnel working near the construction area and operating <br />heavy equipment. <br />E. The gem will be used to measure methane concentrations in the work <br />area. Workers will not perform work that involves sources of combustion <br />(such as welding equipment) or other work that generates temperatures <br />that could ignite methane unless the work area has been verified to meet <br />safety requirements. <br />F. Site personnel will be notified to call 9-1-1during an emergency. For non- <br />life threatening treatments, workers will be advised to go to Lodi Memorial <br />Hospital located at 975 S Fairmont Ave, Lodi, CA.
