i Nagalia Subbotnikova [EH' Hi Robert, Sorry it took me a while to get back to you on the plan we promised to repair the green waste pad at NC. My original thought was to repair the pad as part of the expansion project; however, after seeing the cost estimate which was over $200k, we've decided against it. As you know we are going to spend $8.8 Million to expand North County and Foothill since both landfills are running out of capacity. We have to take money out of the Solid Waste Reserves Fund for these projects, and it will take a few years to build back up our reserves for future projects. The pad project will have to be on hold probably until FY2016-2017. In the meantime, we will maintain the pad as best as we can. I am working with Bill to come up with a "Maintenance Plan" for the green waste area. We are going to patch the big depression (photos attached) that was mentioned in Natalia's inspection report. The work will be done by West Coast Backhoe in the next 2 weeks.
