It is anticipated
that the funds to complete this work will become available in FY 2016-17.
In the interim, Solid Waste proposes to maintain the pad by monitoring and making
repairs as needed, according to the Maintenance Plan described below.
On-going Maintenance Plan:
Solid Waste staff will monitor the Green Waste area weekly and make repairs to
depressions as needed. Some existing depressions are covered by green waste piles
and are not accessible. Staff will repair these as they become accessible.
Based on size and depth, depressions will be filled either with cold -patch asphalt or
hot -mix asphalt. Repairs will be recorded in the Maintenance Log Book, which will be
kept on site and available for review by EHD staff.
Conceptual Pad Replacement Design:
The existing pad grading incorporates a valley in the pavement on the northern part of
the pad (figure 1). There are three (3) drain inlets along the valley which drain into a
perforated pipe which discharges into the drainage ditch to the east. The drainage ditch
discharges into the retention pond to the south.
The County may elect to replace the pad in kind, using the existing drainage design.
Another alternative being considered is to drain to the southeast, where the runoff will
sheet -flow directly into the ditch and retention pond, thus eliminating the need for drain
inlets. This latter scenario is more likely if the future pad is reduced in size from the
current footprint.
