All leachate was successfully returned to the refuse at least 40 feet above the LCRS, allowing dryer refuse to absorb the leachate. Average leachate collection rates for the Areas are approximately proportional to the areas of the Areas: Area I is approximately twice the area of Areas 3 and 4. A comparison of the leachate monitoring data to groundwater monitoring data shows that leachate generally contains significantly higher TDS,Electrical Conductivity, and Chloride than groundwater.
