DRAINAGE SYSTEM EXPLANATION <br /> The drainage facilities are designed in accordance with the County <br /> of San Joaquin Department of Public Works, Manual for Storm <br /> Drainage Design (January 1973) , except that the drainage facilities <br /> at the landfill are sized to accommodate the volume and peak flow <br /> rate expected from a storm having a 100 year-24 hour frequency <br /> instead of the 10 year frequency. The intensity-duration curve for <br /> the 100-year rainfall was developed from data for the Stockton <br /> Disposal Plant as provided in the National Oceanographic and <br /> Atmospheric publication, Precipitation - Frequency Atlas of the <br /> Western United States (1973) . <br /> The final grade of the cover over the landfill shall be at a <br /> minimum slope of 3 percent as required by the regulations. Storm <br /> water runoff from the top of the landfill will be directed to the <br /> drainage ditch system that encircles the top of landfill. The <br /> drainage ditch will be typically graded at 0.2 percent toward a <br /> downdrain located approximately in the middle of the southwest- <br /> northeast trending slope. Drainage channels around the site will <br /> convey all storm water runoff to the southeast corner of the site, <br /> at which point the water will naturally drain to Corral Hollow <br /> Creek. <br /> CURRENT MONITORING AT THE CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL <br /> The groundwater monitoring network is in place and consists of <br /> three deep aquifer monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2 , MW-3) and two <br /> shallow aquifer monitoring wells (MW-4, MW-5) . All five <br /> groundwater monitoring wells as well as two surface water locations <br /> are monitored on a quarterly basis. Samples collected from the <br /> groundwater monitoring wells are tested for the quarterly and <br /> annual parameters listed in the Waste Discharge Requirements order <br /> # 87-088 (attached) under GROUND WATER MONITORING. Samples <br /> collected from the surface water locations on Corral Hollow Creek <br /> are tested for the parameters under SURFACE WATER MONITORING. This <br /> monitoring will continue in accordance with Waste Discharge <br /> Requirements Order # 87-088. <br />
