Recordkeeping activities and
tools will include:
• Field logbook for documenting activities in the field
• Sample labels to identify individual samples
• Chain -of -custody record sheets for documenting possession
and transfer of samples
• Laboratory analysis request sheet for documenting analy-
sis to be performed
In the field, the sampler will record the following information in the
field logbook or on the boring log for each soil or ground -water
sample collected. Plate C-2 shows a typical water sample field data
sheet.
• Project number
• Facility name
• Name of sampler
• Source (i.e., well or boring number)
• Time and date
• Well accessibility and integrity
• Depth of sampling interval for a soil sample
• Pertinent well data (e.g., depth and water -surface
elevation, and casing diameter)
• Calculated and actual purge volumes for the ground -water
samples
PJ9 9390313.00D
