The fourth activity is the repair and maintenance of company equipment. Repairs will be
conducted within the shop building proposed to be constructed on the site. Repairs
include truck repair and maintenance (including gas and oil - underground storage tanks
are proposed for diesel fuel), container painting, and toter repair. A spray paint booth will
be provided. All repairs are proposed to be conducted in-doors. Spray painting of
equipment is proposed to be conducted out of doors.
The fifth activity, which could be classified as maintenance, is the washing down of the site
and equipment. Trucks and containers will be washed daily. The inside of the transfer
building will be swept daily and washed weekly.
The following structures and areas will be developed on the site (Figure 4), corresponding
with these general activities:
1) A 2,700 +/- square foot office and truck service building to be located near
the northwest corner of the site. The 45 foot wide x 60 foot long x 18 foot
high building will house truck service (vehicle repair and painting) within a
1,800 square foot area. Two service bays are proposed with access via two
16.5 foot high x 16 foot wide roll up doors located on the east side of the
structure. The attached, 1,800 square foot 2 story office, will be located
north of the service area, facing Larch Road. The office portion of the
structure will be 18 feet high. The office will handle operation of routes,
dispatching, complaints, etc. The office will also serve as the administrative
headquarters for the company. See Figures 5, 5a, and 6 for elevations.
2) A 55,000 square foot paved maneuvering and truck parking area within the
center of the property boundary.
3) A 11,000 square foot unpaved container storage area near the west property
boundary.
4) A 11,345 square foot solid waste transfer building to house all primary
activities involved with the proposed use, including:
a) recyclable material drop off, crushing and storage,
b) general solid waste dumping, crushing and transfer to disposal
vehicles, and
5) A 3,750 square foot household hazardous waste drop off and identification
at the southeast corner of the site. Hazardous waste storage will be located
within a separate enclosure.
The 80 foot wide x 125 foot long x 30 foot high transfer station building is
proposed to be a roofed, three sided structure containing a pit for loading
solid waste for export off the premises. The north side (toward Larch Road)
of the building will be entirely open, allowing garbage trucks to enter and
unload, prior to proceeding west across the site for washing and servicing.
10
