INTRODUCTION <br /> Due to the growing problem of the illegal dumping of hazardous waste at landfills and <br /> transfer stations, hazardous waste screening programs are now required by the California <br /> Integrated Waste Management Board Facilities Permit and the Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board Waste Discharge Requirements. <br /> The California Integrated Waste Management Board requires that a hazardous waste <br /> screening program be described in the Report of Station Information (RSI). The screening <br /> programs should consist of the following activities: <br /> Inspection of random in-coming loads <br /> Regular visual inspection of the wastes deposited at the facility <br /> Training of facility personnel in hazardous waste recognition and proper hazardous <br /> waste handling procedures <br /> Reporting incidents of unlawful disposal to specific agencies <br /> Installation of signs at the facility entry way indicating that no hazardous waste are <br /> accepted <br /> Plans for implementing these requirements at the Tracy Delta Disposal Service Transfer <br /> Station and Recycle Center are as follows: <br />
