TRACY MATERIALS RECOVERY & TRANSFER FACILITY DRAFT EIR, continued:
San Joaquin County Department of Public Works Comments
November 15, 1993 Page 2
5. The discussion about future public transit service should be modified
to state that passenger rail service is targeted for implementation in
1996 on the Union Pacific tracks in the project area. While no stops
B 2 3
are planned at the immediate project area, a station site is proposed at
the intersection of Corral Hollow and Linne Road.
6. Would the project related truck trips on the poor condition at-grade
railroad crossing create impacts of any significance?
B24
FLOOD CONTROL DIVISION-
"Impact
1. 4.5-3" states thatJ ro'ect water use is'anticipated to be
P
much less than the water usage resulting from conventional agricultural
B25
production at the site. What is the past and current water use of the
site? What is the anticipated water use of the proposed project? ;
2. "MitigationMeasure 4.5-6" the first sentence should be revised as
follows:
"The project proponent should construct' berms adequate to prevent
B 2 6
a 100-year 24-flour flood in Corral Hollow Creek from accidentally
overflowing into the pit."
3. On Page 11itis :stated that the retention pond will be sized for
200'x® of the 10-year '24-hour storm. However, "Mitigation Measure 4.5-1"
B27
states that the basin will be designed for a 100-year storm. The
`inconsistency should be addressed.
Dennis Corcoran, Jr. Engineer, 209 -3060
DC:kah (11/03/93)
Should you need clarification or amplification, lease call me at 8-3073 or b
y P P y
direct response to the commenting division and person listed above.
KAH
C:\WGRD\ERYIROIS\RESPONSE\7NUTF.EIR
s
