We have scheduled the abandoning of the borings from December 19th to
December 23rd .
Our intent is to ream the borings again and then pour cement grout in the borings if drill rig is
able to drive to the well boring locations. This method is weather dependent. If the drill is not
able to access the well boring locations, then we would abandoned the wells in accordance
with the approval received from Robert McClellon. The alternate abandoning process
approved by Robert involves pulling the temporary 1 -inch casing from the boring and leaving
the sand pack inside. A diluted neat cement will be first pumped in the boring to percolate in
the sand pack. Regular mix of neat cement will then pumped afterwards.
The driller has been notified about EHD's inspection time from 9:00am to 3:30 pm. We
anticipate the driller will be ready for inspection at 10.00am on the first day. We will notify you
about the other consecutive inspections in the field after the first inspection. If there are any
other changes, I will notify you as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thanks
JOYESH CHANDRA
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
SOLID WASTE DIVISION
PH: (209) 468-3066
Fax: (209) 468-3078
From: Michael Carroll
Sent: Monday, November 14, 20114:18 PM
To: Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
Cc: 'John Hower'; 'Robert McClellon [EH]'
Subject: Abandoning the temporary Corral Hollow Wells
Hello Natalia,
We found low levels of two VOCs in the temporary wells at Corral Hollow, and can't tell where edge of the
12/8/2011
