This is a common practice when the water sampled
is non-toxic, as at CHSL.
Progress of Corrective Action Measures is submitted twice yearly (during lst and 3rd quarters),
documenting the effectiveness of current corrective action measures.
The groundwater monitoring network consists of nine monitoring wells: seven monitoring the
shallow aquifer perched on the Corcoran clay layer east of the CHSL, and two monitoring the
deep aquifer.
Groundwater samples are analyzed for the following quarterly field and monitoring parameters as
specified in WDR Order No. 5-01-176:
Groundwater Elevation
Temperature
Electrical conductivity (EC)
pH
Turbidity
Total dissolved solids (TDS)
Chloride
Sulfate
Nitrate -nitrogen
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
IGroundwater samples are analyzed annually for these additional parameters:
11
G'
Carbonate
Bicarbonate
Calcium
Magnesium
Potassium
Sodium
Groundwater samples are analyzed every five (5) years for the following Constituents of Concern
(COCs). COCs were last monitored in the third quarter of 2009. The next groundwater COC
monitoring scheduled for the third quarter of 2014.
The COCs are:
Total Organic Carbon
Inorganics (dissolved)
Volatile Organic Compounds (extended list)
Semi -Volatile Organic Compounds
Chlorophenoxy Herbicides
Organophosphorus Compounds
Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill 9 Department of Public Works/Solid Waste
3" Quarter 2013 Groundwater Monitoring County of San Joaquin — October 15, 2013
