I believe that the settled
area is at the refuse-native soil interface, and we would verify the presence of refuse and
closure barrier on both sides of this interface. The best time to investigate the closure cap is
before additional soil is placed.
Therefore, we plan to investigate the closure barrier along this interface on Wednesday, April 18
in accordance with the work plan submitted January 12 (Phase 2 Investigation). We have
bentonite on site sufficient to fill over excavations in the refuse area.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (209) 468-8504, and we hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
W.
