This image is best printed
on 11x17 paper.
Refuse was found within five feet of the toe of the on-ramp slope, so we show the
approximate edge of closure cap extending to the toe of that ramp for much of the length
of the investigation area, as we previously assumed.
This investigation reduced the proposed closure area from 0.7 to 0.6 acres. We estimate
that the cost to close over the refuse in CalTrans property will be $70,000 out of a total
project of approximately $180,000 (preliminary estimates).
Joyesh and Steve did not attempt to determine the thickness of the refuse when discovered,
as the need for closure cap is a function of the extent, but not the thickness of refuse.
Also attached is a figure summarizing the complex history of the acquisition of the
parcels that now comprise the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill property.
Lastly, I have attached a timeline showing the closure project, including compliance with
regulatory requirements as we understand them as well as County procurement requirements
for projects over $100,000.
I thought this information would be useful in our meeting on Monday.
Best regards,
Mike Carroll
W.
