Page 1 of 1
Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
From: Jaime Perez Operez@sjgov.org]
Sent: Thursday, May 15, 2008 12:10 PM
To: Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
Cc: Desi Reno; Michael Carroll; Joyesh Chandra; Billy Baier; Marcus Davenport; Robert McClellon [EH];
Michael Kith [EH]; Sylvia Wilson; Steven Carter; Alison Hudson; Roy Constantino; Manuel Chavez;
Greg Scheffel; Maria Orozco; Jo Baker; Jack Thompson; Diego Chavez; Felipe Maldonado; Dan
Johnson; Luis Gardea
Subject: CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL - VEGETATION CONTROL
Good afternoon Natalia,
IJ'1l
Our Purchase Agreement with the Sheep Rancher should be in place next week. Therefore,
next week he'll be moving in about 100 sheep to the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill (CHSL) to
graze them and this will help address Gino's/your concern with the height/thickness of the
vegetation. As per our conversation, the sheep will be used at the site only during the dry
season and will be moved out before the start of the rainy season (sometime in October). Bill
aier will e-mail you next week with the exact date when the sheep will arrive at the
CHSL.
Based on the information you've provided, we've decide that we'll only use sheep and not
cattle at our closed sites for vegetation control. If we're able to find a rancher that is interested
in grazing sheep at the Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill, we'll use sheep there too. However,
we'll notify you before the sheep are moved in. In the meantime, we'll continue with the
mowing of the site.
If you have any questions, please let me know. FYI — I'll be out all of next week attending a
SWANA conference. However, if needed, you can reach me on my cell phone
@ 610-2001.
Thank you.
Jaime L.
