AMENDMENT TO FEBRUARY, 1993 REPORT OF DISPOSAL SITE INFORMATION
CITY OF STOCKTON FRENCH CAMP LANDFILL
Page 2
December 17, 1993
AMENDMENT TO SITE DRAINAGE- PAGE 20 OF RDSI
Design and Drainage Calculations for Drainage Collection Elements
A storm design sheet and storm water drainage map are attached and
made a part of the RDSI .
AMENDMENT TO GROUNDWATER MONITORING - PAGE 21 OF RDSI
Evaluation Monitoring Program
VOC contamination was found in leachate taken from Monitoring Well
No. 1 (MW-1) in 1989 . MW-1 is located next to French Camp Slough,
in the northwest corner of the landfill (see Figure 7 in RDSI) .
When MW-1 was drilled, refuse was hit four feet below groundwater.
The City suspects that the refuse was dumped in French Camp Slough
sometime during the early development of the landfill which opened
in 1938 . In November 1989 The Regional Water Quality Control Board
(RWQCB) ordered the City to do a Verification Monitoring Program
(VMP) to determine the extent of groundwater impact . The VMP
concluded that the VOC contamination was limited to MW-1 and had
not reached downgradient monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 . In
December, 1992 the RWQCB ordered the City to conduct an Evaluation
Monitoring Program to determine if MW-1 contamination was
increasing. This program is now in progress .
