We <br /> agree that there is a statistically significant difference between downgradient when compared to MW-5. <br /> However, we are not convinced that the difference is due to variations in water quality which are not due <br /> to leachate discharge from the landfill. Statements that a salt water intrusion boundary extends beneath <br /> the landfill are not substantiated. Additonal monitoring data and analysis are required to demonstrate <br /> that intrawell comparisons are appropriate. <br /> The issue of the type of statistical method used is not of great importance at this point in time since it has <br /> already been determined that a release from the landfill to ground water has occurred.
