Box 388 <br />Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br />Attn: Ed Padilla <br />5' 1995 <br />ENVIRONMENTAL HEATH <br />PERPAT/SERViCES <br />SUBJECT -- GREEN WASTE PROCESSING AT FRENCH CAMP LANDFILL <br />I would like to thank you and Carol for taking the time to respond to our questions <br />and concerns. <br />It is our intent at the City of Stockton to comply with State waste reduction <br />mandates, the green waste processing program would be the first step in <br />composting the City's green waste, thereby reducing our solid waste disposal. <br />Pursuant to our meeting today, it is our understanding that you will review the list <br />of questions that were submitted, review the regulations for direction, and <br />communicate that direction to us so that we will be able to proceed with the <br />issuance of our Request for Proposal. <br />We would like to reiterate our questions: <br />1. For what period can green waste be stockpiled from the time it is <br />received, until the time it is transported to another facility? <br />2. Since plastic bags are part of the current waste stream being landfilled <br />at French Camp Landfill, if they are sorted from the green waste, can <br />they be landfilled at French Camp Landfill? <br />3. Can we use chipped green waste mixed with plastic bags as daily <br />cover? <br />4. To start this project, will the City of Stockton be able to apply for a <br />one year demonstration project or will the permit at French Camp <br />Landfill have to be revised? <br />"STOCKTON ...
