Bentofix®Thermal Lock® Geosynthet' lay Liners (GCLs) Page 1 of 1
Fobtic Entased GCILS
North America
entofix® Thermal Lock®Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCLs)
Data Sheet(PDF) .Drop-In S ificabon(ooc) «Application Sheet(PDF) •FAQs
Bentofix®Thermal Lock®Geosynthetic Clay Liners(GCLs) are needle punch reinforced composites which combine two
durable geotextile outer layers with a uniform core of natural sodium bentonite clay to form a hydraulic barrier. Fibers
from the cap/top nonwoven geotextile are needle punched through the layer of bentonite and incorporated into the
" carrier/bottom geotextile (either a woven or a nonwoven). A proprietary heat treating process — the Thermal Lock
process—is then used to modify and more permanently lock the needle punched fibers into place by best burnishing the
carrier geotextile surface. Unique properties, including increased internal shear resistance and long-term creep
resistance result from this production.
k When hydrated under a confining load, the bentonite swells to form a low permeability clay layer with the equivalent
hydraulic protection of several feet of compacted clay. The excellent hydraulic properties and slope performance of the
Bentofix®Thermal Lock®GCLs make the product ideal for many lining and cap containment projects.
Primary features of the Bentofix®GCLs:
' • High internal shear strength
Uniform bentonite content
• Excellent installation durability
More versatile than compacted clay
• Increased airspace and liner efficiency
• Improved leakage performance
Bentofix is a registered trademark of NAUE GmbH&Co.KG.
€AN
11111"s-
Print this page
Privacy I Leg.a.l,.
Bookmark This Page I Email This Page I Copy URL to Clipboard
GSE and other marks used herein are trademarks and service marks of GSE Lining Technology,Inc.,
certain of which are registered in the U.S.A.and other countries.
http://www.gseworld.com/Products/gcls/bentofixibentofix.htm?DSO45nwl 5/5/2006
