CENTRAL VALLEYefGIONAL WATER QUALITY CV#TROL BOARD
INSPECTION REPORT
DATE: 14 September 2006
FACILITY: Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill (Post-closure)
DISCHARGER: San Joaquin County
LOCATION & COUNTY: East San Joaquin County
CONTACT(S): Mike Carroll
INSPECTION DATE: 8 September 2006
INSPECTED BY: Todd Del Frate
ACCOMPANIED BY:
SUMMARY:
Met with Mike Carroll of San Joaquin County to inspect past erosion problems at the Harney Lane
Sanitary Landfill. Harney Lane is a closed facility and access is restricted. It appeared there has been very
little activity at this site since spring of 2006. Inspected the Primary Cell southeast side slope where deep
erosion occurred last wet season. Repairs had been made to the southeast side slope but this area still
remains un-vegetated as shown in Figure 1 and 2. Mike Carrol stated this area will be hydroseeded prior
to wet season.
Inspected the Secondary Cell. Drove the access road to top of cell. In the southeast corner of this cell
settlement was observed as shown in Figure 3. This cell also had an area of erosion covered by plastic on
the eastern side slope(Figure 4). Mike Carroll stated repairs would be made prior to start of wet season.
Approved:
