Page 1 of 1 1
iv
Garrett T. Backus [EH]
From: Garrett T. Backus [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 8:56 AM
To: 'Michael Carroll'
Cc: Robert McClellon [EH]
Subject: Harney Lane Landfill -detection of LFG > 5% at GW-1
Hi Mike,
As we have discussed, I detected methane at 7.4% in the middle probe of GW-1, on May 4, next to the migrant
housing. The EHD requires that a remediation plan be prepared and submitted to our department. The
remediation plan should be similar to the plan dated December 14, 2004. The plan should include mitigation
steps, additional monitoring, reporting of all monitoring, and LFG system evaluation.
GW-1 and the foundation vents of the structures adjacent to this well should be monitored weekly until the
concentration of methane is brought below regulatory limits.
Garrett Backus, REHS
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
304 E Weber Ave, 3rd floor
Stockton, CA 95202
telephone: (209)468-2986
fax: (209)468-8392
email: gbackus@sjcehd.com
5/15/2007
